Hey Tom,

There really isn't a boat service from indo to OZ, so you have to pretty much fly anyway. The political situation in West Timor (Kupang) is OK, and there are 2 flights a week from there to Darwin with Merparti Air. Otherwise you can fly from Bali to either Darwin or Perth, but its quite a bit more expensive. There are also some flights to Bali from Port Headland on the WA coast - not sure what they cost at the moment but it kind of limits your options. Remember the tricky visa situation you are going to encounter - you will need a ticket out of Indo before they will let you in!! And then the Australians usualy want the same thing. There are occassionaly private yachts sailing from Bali to Australia (check out the yacht club in Benoa in bali) but its kind of the wrong time of year. Enjoy Sulawesi (get out of Ujang Pandang ASAP!) and have a great trip.

Cheers,

Milton
