Gday Nadine,
From Bali you are really looking at a flight - boat is not practical
unless you have your own yacht (or can borrow a mates) and even then the
hassle with visas is a huge pain (I know casue I've done it!). A flight
will set you back around $600 US for a stay of up to 60 days, or around
$720 for a longer stay. Unfortunatley there is little or no competition
between airlines on this route, so unusual to find much of a deal going.
You other alternative would be to travel overland / by ferry to Kupang in Timor, from there you can fly to Darwin for around $300 usd return, with Merparti Airlines - a subsiduary of Garuda. Hope this helps you out.
Cheers
Milton (but posted from someone elses computer...)
