PADI certification courses include an Introductory Course (1 day), Open Water Course (4 to 5 days), Advanced Diver Course (2 days), Medic First Aid Course, Rescue Dive Course (3 days), Divemaster Course (6 to 8 days), Assistant Instructor Course (6 to 8 days), the Instructor Course (9 to 10 days) and Speciality Courses - each lasting from one to five days. NAUI-endorsed centers offer a similar range of courses.
