South Thailand / Khanom, Sichon
Khanom is a town in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, some 100km (63mi) north of Nakhon Si Thammarat city and just some 70km (44mi) east of Surat Thani city. The Thai government intends to develop the town into a major industrial site (see the part on Economy in the introduction on southern Thailand).
