Places of Interest

Ba Cho Waterfall

The fall near Bacho on the Pattani - Narathiwat highway has been described as one of the most beautiful waterfalls of the South. The water cascades from a very high cliff with a strong current, then turns into a pleasantly flowing stream, passing through the forests.

Narathiwat Beach

A white powdered sand beach on the Pacific Ocean near the town of Narathiwat.

Bang Nara Fishing Village

The beach is lined with groves of high coconut trees. Households of fishermen in are scattered under the shady trees and a vast number of fishing boats of all sizes can be seen around the bay.

Phra Buddha Taksin Ming Mongkol

This huge Sitting Buddha image on top of the Khao Kong (Kong Hill) has a lap width of 15m (49ft) and a height from the base to the top of 24m (79ft). In compliance with the southern style, it decorated with gold-colored mosaic tiles.

Taksin Ratcha Niet Palace

This palace is the Royal residence when the King and his family make their annual visit to the South. It was built on the eastern foothill of Tanyong Hill, 8km (5mi) from the town of Narathiwat on the road to Tak Bai.

Chat Warin Waterfall

This waterfall is near Sungai Padi, 3km (2mi) from the Deng Railway Station. The water originates from the Bukit Nawae Mountains and cascades down through seven levels. There is a rest pavilion at the lowest level.

Sin Maha Maya Pagoda

This pagoda has a bell shape and is hollow inside. Sacred Buddha relics are enshrined on the top. The pagoda has been dedicated to Queen Sirikit.

Thai Airways has a direct flight from Narathiwat to Hat Yai three times a week. Departures are in the late afternoon. While departure times might change every 6 months, the changes are likely to be minimal while the frequency is basically maintained. Flight time is around 40min.
